Google Adsense Works, Haters be Damned!

For some reason, my silly little blog has taken some pretty cheap shots from readers (haters?) who seem to think that just by reading one of my posts they know who I am and feel the need to criticize me. I don't understand that at all, and even though it shouldn't, it does actually hurt when people make comments that are unfairly critical. I post a lot of entries that are just what is bugging me or causing some sort of distress in my life. I post it because, quite frankly, it feels good to get it out. Maybe someone will read it and feel a little less alone, or feel like their troubles are not as bad as they thought, or it  may make them mad. I don't know. I also post entries about products and services I have tried because sometimes people want to know about that kind of thing. It shouldn't be the source of such criticism. One of the last entries I wrote was about an optical firm I purchased some prescription eyeglasses from. One (possibly the only) reader felt the need to criticize my writing and continued writing nasty comments. I deleted one, and he criticized me for that. That sort of stuff seems so unnecessary to me, and why it hurts my feelings, I don't know. What I do know is that this blog makes money for me. No matter how many negative comments it gets, I am making money, and that is what makes doing this worth it. I have created a nice, yet small, stream of income from my writing even if in someone elses opinion, it is not good, or it is boring, or it appears to be something it's not. As it turns out, the haters seem to be the ones who are helping me make a little money, and that makes me the winner. I am proof that writing a blog and connecting it with Google Adsense works, plain and simple. Don't hate me because I am successful.

I Love Fridays!

In honor of my new, more positive attitude, I would like to say that I love Fridays! I liked Fridays before I started working because it felt like something (the week???) had been completed, and everything would start afresh again on Monday. Now that I have my little part-time job and I have earned a couple of paychecks, I LOVE Fridays--every other one, especially. There is nothing in the world like seeing that a deposit has been made in your bank account. It is very satisfying. Along the same lines is my satisfaction and feeling of accomplishment with regard to this blog. I have been blogging for a few years now and have been trying to make my blog something that is pleasant and enjoyable to read. I also wanted to see if I could earn a little money with my casual writing, and I have. With the Google AdSense, I have slowing been building up my blog's money making ability, that is a great feeling too. Thank you for reading and you truly can make money with a simple, blog/journal.

AdSense Drought

Wow, I've hit a drought with regard to my Adsense earnings. I had been going along at a nice little clip, earning a little money each month. It all adds up, you know. Now, it seems I've got nothing. Things are really slow. I guess the rotten economy has had an effect on even my little old ads. Bummer. I guess I will have to try write less about my boring life and more about stuff that is going to generate income. Too bad, I rather like just writing whatever I feel like :-( Back to checking Google Trends.

How Did Perez Hilton Do It?

I have long lamented (in my various blogs) that I would love to make money blogging. I have several different blogs and I have to be really honest, I have earned a tiny (and I do mean tiny) bit of money using Google AdSense. It is fun to see that your account is earning money because of something you wrote. For me, however, the money is slow to trickle in. I am fascinated by people like Perez Hilton who somehow find a magical subject to blog about and then all of a sudden explode and the thing becomes quite lucrative. I just haven't found the niche that will earn the kind of money I need. Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan and all the others that seem to be bloggers meal tickets just aren't appealing to me. I think they are all shameful and really not worth blogging that much about. Perez Hilton must be a genius with lots of time on his hands. Kudos to him. Maybe what I will do is study him and start blogging about him! I am desperate for money, can you tell?
